Monboddo Bar
Monboddo Bar is named after James Burnett was born in 1714 at Monboddo House in Kincardineshire, Scotland. After his primary education at the parish school of Laurencekirk, he studied at Marischal College, Aberdeen from where he graduated in 1729. He also studied at University of Edinburgh and the University of Groningen. At Edinburgh University he graduated in law and was admitted to the Faculty of Advocates in 1737.
At Monboddo bar you can enjoy a cocktail or two in our modern, relaxed bar where our knowledgeable staff can lead you through a wonderful range of top quality local and international beverages. Whether it’s cocktails, whisky or a glass of fine wine we guarantee to have something to tempt you.

Monboddo cocktail competition
All great cocktail bartenders dream of creating their own classic to be made all over the world for years to come. Now for the first time you have the chance to do just that. Monboddo bar is hosting a competition for you!
All you have to do is come up with a unique recipe and post it on our Facebook page - Monboddo. Our talented team will judge everyone on flavour, balance, presentation, use of ingredients and style of glass. You can post the recipe, picture or even video; it's really up to you! The creator of the winning cocktail will be invited to Monboddo with 3 friends to make and taste their creation along with some classic cocktails.
The winning cocktail will be our Cocktail of the Month in June.

Our top bartenders will teach you the tricks of the trade and by the time you leave your friends will be in awe with the skills you have learned.
For 2 to 10 people at £20 each
You will make 3 cocktails each and receive a glass of fizz on arrival!
For vodka lovers a choice of Cosmopolitan or French Martini.
For gin lovers a choice of Bramble or White Lady.
For the rum lovers the Monboddo Love Potion or Mojito.
